Ph.D School in Engineering Science AA 25/26

Didactic offer of the PhD School in Engineering Science for academic year 2025/26

The structured didactic courses are open to everyone interested, including professors and PhD students of the previous cycles. During their first year of doctorate, PhD students are required to attend courses for at least 48 hours chosen from those listed below (in agreement with their supervisor).

All courses are taught in English, and are held in person. Furthermore, the courses are also delivered in live streaming via the TEAMS platform and recorded; this is in order to allow attendance remotely, or in deferred mode, for those who exceptionally have impediments to attending in person, which remains the recommended mode. Those who participate in deferred mode using the recordings are required to communicate the viewing of the recorded lesson via email to the professor; the teacher will manually record the presence in deferred mode.

The attendance will be checked by collecting signatures (by scanning a QR code) in the classroom and the PhD students are required to attend at least 75% of the course hours. The verification of the acquired knowledge will be carried out according to the procedures defined by each professor.

For organizational purposes, the students who are interested, in agreement with their supervisor, should contact the course professor through the registration to the Moodle web page of the course or in special cases through an e-mail.

The offered courses of the PhD school in Engineering Science are also open to PhD students coming from other universities. Since the credentials released from UNIVPM are necessary to enroll, internals will use their own credentials, while externals need to compile the module that can be found at   https://nia-dotnet.univpm.it/csi/esternididattica appointing Prof. Stefano Lenci as Structure Director and Davide Bevilacqua (PTA) as referent. The PhD student that fills out the module will receive an email with the credential to access web services necessary to access Moodle and to register the attendance.

  • Course list with related course program, with link to each Moodle web page (to be upated soon)
  • Course calendar and timetable (will be inserted soon)
  • Didactic offer presentation (will be done in October/November 2025, and the slides will be uploaded here)

Thematic courses (Attendance to these courses does NOT substitute compulsory attendance to courses offered by the Doctoral School for at least 48 hours.)

In the meeting of June 20, 2025, the PhD school had admitted the possibility that young researchers can ask to deliver Thematic courses for PhD.

The candidate must satisfy some quality thresholds to apply. Details can be find in 2025-06-20_Verbale - Allegato.pdf .

If you satisfy the requested criteria and are interested, you can send your complete application to the Director of the School, Prof. Stefano Lenci, lenci@univpm.it.

At the end of the course the Director of the School will release a certificate, if there will be at least 2 students attending the course.

Further didactic offer from the Doctoral Courses in engineering

In addition to the two mandatory courses, chosen from the PhD school, the students are invited to follow other courses and\or seminars. Courses and seminars can be also chosen from other PhD Schools or from the courses offered by Bachelor or Master degrees or from courses offered by external entities. Attendance to these courses does not substitute compulsory attendance to at least two courses offered by the Doctoral School. The didactic offer of UNIVPM can be found at:
