Aims :

The course provides the knowledge relative to standards, tools and methodologies for measurement, Quality Control and diagnostic in paper industry.

Topics :

Unified Standards for paper testing. Principles and methods of measurement and control in paper production. Study of humidity and temperature influence. Climatic chambers.
Technological tests for paper. Mechanical resistance tests in different configurations. Superficial characteristics tests (smoothness, etc.). Optical characteristics: white level, optical correctors, color measurement, etc.
Technological tests on paper for packaging: CMT,CCT, CLT, RCT, etc. Printability tests.
The course comprises both frontal lectures and lab experiences.
