Aims :
The course provides the knowledge
relative to measuring instrumentation for industrial
application. The elements for understanding of
measurement processes, interactions between measurement
systems and measurement objects, principles of
sensors and transducers, laboratory and on-line
applications will be given.
Topics :
The course presents the basic knowledge of mechanical
and thermal measurements and testing methodologies.
The measurement principles of the quantities of
interest for industrial applications are shown
through theoretical lectures, laboratory experiences
and practical examples.
General concepts on measurement systems and procedures.
Instrument utilization in industrial application
and on-line testing. Static and dynamic calibration.
Elements of signal analysis and digital data processing.
Traditional and innovative systems for the measurement
of: dimension, displacement, strain, velocity
of solids (translation, rotation), velocity of
fluids, acceleration, force, torque, power, pressure,
flow rate, temperature, heat flows.
