Aims :
To
impart the main analytic tools for studying differential
models concerning some applications to Environmental
Engineering.
Topics :
Partial Differential Equations:
general concepts and classification into parabolic,
hyperbolic and elliptic equations.
The Heat Equation: heuristic derivation, mathematical
aspects, boundary conditions, analytic solutions.
The Drift-Diffusion Equation: heuristic derivation,
mathematical aspects, boundary conditions, analytic
solutions. The Laplace Equation: mathematical
aspects, solutions under Dirichlet and Neumann
boundary conditions. Examples and applications
to Environmental Engineering.
Textbooks :

Publications.
Exam :
The exam consist in an oral exam
concerning the topics of the course.
Tutorial Session :
two hours per week scheduled in
accordance with students.
