Professional guidelines for restoration. The evolution
of building skeletons in masonry. Problems connected
with the restoration of modern architecture. The
mechanics of masonry. Masonry instabilities. Technical
evolution in the construction of roofing and wooden
flooring. The instabilities of wooden structures.
Analysis of the range of intervention techniques
for masonry and wooden structures. Analysis of
some types of finish in historical architecture
with particular reference to traditional plaster
and to cane ceilings. Seismic vulnerability of
buildings in masonry and assessment of the efficacy
of some intervention techniques.
