Aims :
The
aim of this course is to specify the fundamentals
notions of applied thermodynamics and thermal
trasfer. A part of the course concerns heat loss
in buildings and the means to reduce it. A final
part of the course is dedied to design air conditioning
plants.
Topics :
Apllied thermodynamics: thermodynamic
processes, state and equilibrium, forms of energy,
the first law of thermodynamics, the second law
of thermodynamics, entropy, gas power cycles,
vapor and combined power cycles, refrigeration
cycles. Gas-vapor mixtures: dry and atmospheric
air, air conditioning processes, psychrometric
chart..
Heat transfer: heat conduction equation, forced
and natural convection, radiation heat transfer.
Heating and cooling of buildings: human body and
thermal comfort, design conditions for heating
and cooling, design of air conditioning plants.
Electrical plants.
