Aims :

The formative purposes of the course are, to familiarize the student with the basic concepts of Mathematical Analysis necessary for the course of “Mathematical Modelling” and other applications.

Topics :

Real numbers. Set theory. Probability and probability space. Scalar and vector functions. Functions and sequences. Continuous functions and fundamental theorems. Differentiation of scalar and fondamental theorems (Fermat, Rolle, Cauchy. Lagrange, Hopital ). Riemann integral for real functions. Torricelli-Barrow’s theorem. Integration by parts. Change of variabile in a Riemann integral. Improper integrals. Taylor’s formula. Convergence theorems for numerical series
