Aims :
Show
the main principles of the mechanism and machinery
functioning, and
Give to the students the basic knowledge to study
different types of mechanisms and machineries.
Topics
:
- MECHANISMS
AND MACHINERIES: Definitions; typologies; analysis
and synthesis; functioning conditions.
- KINEMATICS: particle’s kinematics; rigid
body’s kinematics; relative motion; mechanism’s
kinematics; joints’ typologies; mechanism’s
synthesis and analysis.
- KINETICS: forces and moments; moment and products
of inertia areas; particle’s kinetics; equations
of motion; efficiency; direct and inverse motion;
motion’s irreversibility.
- FRICTION: friction origin; friction theories;
sliding friction, friction in rolling contact.
- DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF MACHINERY: Static and dynamic
analysis; transient and steady state analysis;
dynamic equivalence; fly wheel; free and forced
vibrations of one degrees of freedom systems;
transient analysis of simple machineries.
- MECHANISMS: linkage; cams; couplings; clutches;
gears and gear trains, belt drives, chain drives;
brakes.
