Aims :

The course aims to give to the students the basic concepts concerning the design of the industrial plants and the management tools of production systems.

Topics :

Classification of production process structures. Production systems and the functional units of organizations. Operationalizing goals and measuring performance.
Process design and facility layout. Design of repetitive processes: line balancing and product. Design of cellular processes. Design of service systems.
An introduction to Project Management.
Aggregate planning.
Master Production Schedule.
Inventory planning and managing materials with independent demands.
Managing materials with dependent demands: Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP and MRPII).
Operations and personnel scheduling.
