Aims :
The
teaching treats of road infrastructures providing
critical systems analysis criteria, planning and
operating methods, design theories and technics
based on geometrical approach and aspects related
to road traffic.
Topics
:
Road design: track analysis, minimum
radius of curve, horizontal curves, superelevation
and widening on curves, edges; vertical alinement,
vertical curves; cross sections, platform, roadway,
traffic lane, traffic shoulder, roadsides.
Planimetry, longitudinal profile, standard cross
sections, sections book, volumes calculation.
Pavement structural design: traffic loads, mechanical
properties of materials, enviromental conditions
effect; semi-empirical and rational methods; fatigue
damage and rut depth calculation; pavements catalogue.
