Aims :
This
Course starts from the knowledge acquired in the
Course of “Telecomunicazioni” of the
Laurea Degree and deepens the most important aspects,
either in terms of theoretic characterization
or practical implementation.
Topics :
Main transmission formats: fundamental
parameters and representation methods.
Partial response systems and performance evaluation
in presence of noise.
Synchronization problems.
Pragmatic approach to the block codes and convolutional
codes theory.
Examples of turbo codes for error correction and
their usage in TLC standards.
Calculation of the power spectra for digital baseband
and passband signals.
Modulation methods with high spectral efficiency.
Continuous phase modulations.
OFDM.
Software tools for simulation of telecommunication
systems.
