Aims :

The course is oriented to the study of methodological and operational issues concerning the detail design of buildings.

Topics :

This professionally-oriented course is oriented to educate in organizing, leading and managing the people and the processes of detail design project. The course develops an integral understanding of the design and construction of buildings and their related technologies.
An annual case study provides students with a chance to test their conceptual understanding of technology and construction issues while developing the design, dealing with the specific contract conditions of building under analysis.
Specific issues developed during the course phases are:
1. Building construction regulations and other statutory requirements.
2. Production Information and Tender action - preparation of drawings and specifications for main Contractor.
3. Standardized divisional breakdown structure of building design
4. Working drawing standards
5. Management and Planning of the Design Project
