Aims :
The aim of the course is to give to students the
basics of surfaces modelling techniques, including
direct use of free-form surfaces modelling of
the representation of industrial design objects.
Topics :
Curves Modelling: 2D and 3D curves
modelling; basic curves, conics curves, curves
through points and curves through control points;
curves from surfaces; intersection and cross-sections
curves; commands for curves editing and change.
Surfaces Modelling: 3D surface modelling; linear
and rotational extrusion surfaces; loft; bounded
and trimmed surfaces; surfaces from cross-sections
and from isoparametric curves; adjacency and continuity
control.
Data exchange formats: formats for 2D geometry
data exchange; formats for 3D exact geometry exchange;
formats for tessellated geometry exchange; standard
formats (IGES, STEP), de-facto standard (STL,
DWG) and others (SAT, X_T, ecc.).
Textbooks :
Articles and lectures distributed
during the lessons.
Exam :
Development of a project involving
the modeling of elements with style features.
Tutorial Session :
To be concerted with the teacher. |
