Aims :
The aim of the course is to give to students the
basics of solid modelling techniques, including
direct use of parametric feature-based systems
for the modelling of mechanical components and
small assembly.
Topics :
Part Modelling: sketching of parametric
profiles; rotational and linear sweeping; commands
for shelling, drafting, rounding, chamfering and
lofting; feature-based modelling; rendering techniques.
Assembly Modelling: spatial relationships definition
(alignment, coaxial, points coincidence, etc.);
fully constrained of partially constrained configurations;
check of interferences.
Drafting: lay-out of views and cross-sections;
annotation of dimensions, tolerances and roughness;
lay-out and fill-in of the specification box and
bill of materials.
Data Exchange: standard and non-standard data
exchange formats; exportable data types.
Textbooks :
Articles and lectures distributed
during the lessons.
Exam :
Development of a project involving
the modeling of mechanical components.
Tutorial Session :
To be concerted with the teacher.
