Aims :
The course is aimed at providing the basic knowledge
of the Mechanics of Solids and of the Strength
of Materials. The students will learn to solve
framed structures, with different methods, to
check the admissibility of an elastic state, and
to compute displacements of structures.

relations and energy aspects – The elastic
problem – The De Saint-venant (D.S.V.) problem
– Traction – Bending – Approximate
theory of shear – Torsion – The Principle
of Virtual Works – Displacements and force
methods for framed structure – Yield criteria
– Mohr analogy – Variational principles
and energetic theorems – Stability.
